 Abstract

Background. At the present stage, consumer protection is highly relevant. Russian scientists continue exploring this problem and offering various methods for its solution. The problem of consumer protection is significant both in theory and in practice, since consumer rights are protected at the legislative level, but it is not always possible to defend them in real life. In addition, the present system of legal acts regulating the pro-tection of consumer rights predetermines the relevance of studying the main provisions of the current legislation. The purpose of the paper is to examine the features and hierarchy of legislation in the field of consumer protection. The scientific novelty lies in the author's view of consumer protection, in the study of this problem from the standpoint of legislative regulation, in the study of the features of consumer protection in a pandemic and in the development of recommendations for solving this problem. Materials and methods. The tasks are accomplished following the analysis of the current legislation and various viewpoints of scientists and using the modern research methods: comparative legal and formal analysis, system and structural method, specification and synthesis. Results. The structure of legislation on consumer rights protection is studied, the provisions of the main legal acts in this field are analyzed, their features and correlation are identified. Conclusions. The theoretical relevance of the paper is that the study may lay the foundation for creating further provisions in order to improve modern legislation on consumer protection. The study concludes that legislation in the field of consumer protection is complex and, despite all the changes introduced, requires further enhancement.
